Well played David.
On a related note, I want to talk about a missed opportunity I had to own a David Choe original.
I picked up his first book, Bruised Fruit, when I was an art student in San Francisco in 2002. If anyone has that book, there’s a section where he painted gorilla figures out of random objects. It had a half-joking caption that said he would do one for anyone who’d mail him some money.
I e-mailed him about it and he said he’d do it and gave me his address. Of course, being a broke college student I never did send him money.
I regret very little in life, but this makes the list.
No more sad whales for the man.
