Repairing Denim with Self Edge NYC starring Andrew Chen (presented by Complex Mag)
Andrew is going to get on my case because I owe him some homemade ice cream. I’ve been promising him and a few others for ages.
But I wanted to share an awesome video of Self Edge’s denim repair service using a sewing technique called darning, where you repair holes by reweaving fabric with threads rather than sewing a piece of fabric to patch it up.
I will be coming by with my beloved pair of APCs (which I’m sure he’ll get on my case for as well) and pick up a pair of raw jeans to work on, which I’ve wanted to do for ages.

Picked up the ceramic version of a NY classic at The MoMA Store today.
“The cup was originally designed by Leslie Buck of the Sherri Cup Co. in 1963, to appeal to Greek-owned coffee shops in New York City…Sales of the cup reached 500 million in 1994 (when it was by far the most popular design for the company’s cups), but fell to about 200 million cups annually in 2005. One New York Times writer in 1995 called the Anthora “perhaps the most successful cup in history”

Before moving to New York, I used to call bullshit to instant thunderstorm scenes in movies. You know the type. Character A runs to Character B to confess something, thunder is heard and full on storm follows 2 seconds later.
Bullshit.
I was slapped with reality when I moved to New York in the summer of 2005. My first job as a stylist assistant. Running around with 20lbs worth of clothes draped over your arm, rainstorms disappearing and reappearing every 60 seconds.
Bullshit.
